Beautiful Bamboo

It seems like lately you can't spit without finding something made from bamboo. Everywhere you look there's bamboo flooring, kitchen utensils, and even fabrics! But this sustainable medium is not just for the practical minded.

Using her design skills and knowledge of materials from her career as an architect of sustainable homes, jewelry designer Molly M laser cuts beautiful botanical designs on two different kinds of reclaimed bamboo veneer, the most sustainable wood product available.

On many designs she also uses recycled pieces of felt and wool from army surplus clothing and suede reclaimed from old jackets. Remember that next time you're looking for a use for that old winter coat! Molly's pieces are at once earthy and delicate and are truly little works of art you can feel good about wearing. Check out a great selection of Molly's earrings and pendants at Drift Denim next time you find yourself in Old Oakland.
