Make-up Lesson # 2 at Herringbone Apothecary

Now that you've stared your transformation by cleaning out your closet at Maribel and had your first make-up lesson at Benefit, it's time to take it to the next level. If you really want to know how the experts do it, head over to Herringbone on Shattuck in the Gourmet Ghetto.

Owner, professional make-up artist, and stylist Shawn Burke and Esthetician Cody Dougherty can make you look beautiful and then show you how to do it yourself. With an amazing selection of quality make-up (Kevyn Aucoin, Julie Hewett Los Angeles, etc.), skin care products, and hair and body care, Herringbone has everything you need to beautify and pamper yourself. And if you're looking for a new signature fragrance, don't forget to sniff the Atelier perfume: it's organic and delicious!

The best part, however, are the services provided in their lovely spa room in the back. Herringbone offers facials and make-up consultations so you can come out looking gorgeous and refreshed and be able to re-create the look yourself! No more worrying over whether that lipstick is too red for you or what color best brings out those beautiful baby blues. Shawn can tell you what to do!

Even being in Herringbone is an inspiration to make your life more beautiful. The shop is lovely and serene with gorgeous wood paneling on the walls and an amazing art exhibit by Jessica Niello. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and will help you on your way to creating the new you!

And don't forget to check out The East Bay Style Collective Fashion Show on May 17th. Shawn will be providing make-up and hair to highlight the lovely clothes provided by the other amazing shops in the collective. Don't miss it!
