Meanwhile, Back in Brooklyn...

After a whirlwind week in NYC (and the borough of Brooklyn) - Fashion Forward is here to share some of the great places where Brooklyn girls get their unique clothes. During a dinner with friends FF got the scoop on the hot new shops- like Noisette.

Though small, Noisette is very warm and inviting. The natural color palate of woods and cremes create the perfect backdrop for the European/international labels they carry, such as shoes from Chie Mihara; Bags from Bash; Dresses from Maje;and jewelery from Ginette. All items are classy and understated - perfect for creating that look that is city sophisticate.

The best part? There is always coffee and tea on hand, as well as delicious hazelnut chocolate Nutella! ( Noisette is French for hazelnut).

And, good news for us West Coast girls, you can shop Noisette online!
Provide your own Nutella.

Bird is another great Brooklyn destination and the home of all things cute!

The store itself is an eclectic mix of high end designer and independent/organic goods. Carrying lines like Alexander Wang, 3.1 Philip Lim, and APC you wouldn't expect to find quirky items like fairy print socks and stackable heart shaped rings in store-but, it is all there!
Applause for e-commerce, as you can shop Bird online as well!

For handmade clothes, gifts and goods there is Sodafine.

The whole shop has a D.I.Y philosophy, catering to young artists/designers and small independent labels like San Francisco's She Bible, and organic line Popomomo. They also carry vintage pieces, jewelry, and hand designed stationary. Check them out online at
